Cabrillo was the first tower we built at the Shores and designed with “interiors to match the beauty of the sea”. Along with all of the other condominium units at the Shores, units at Cabrillo Tower include the following luxury features: floor-to-ceiling view windows in every room, private master bedroom suites with spacious walk-in closets lined with extra shelves, sliding glass entries to the balconies, air conditioning, wet bars for convenient entertaining, covered garage with extra storage area, and quiet high-speed elevators.
When this first Coronado Shores Tower went on sale in 1970, it was referred to as building Number One. There wasn’t a problem until the second building went on sale. Cabrillo, Building Number One, was on Lot Three and was described as Type IIA. The second tower was on Lot Two and was referred to as Type IA. The homeowners in building One selected the name Cabrillo Tower. Named after Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo, who’s ship landed at San Diego Bay on September 28, 1542 – this building is a true commemoration to the history of San Diego and representative of its beauty. As well as an indicator of the gorgeous Cabrillo National Park on the Southern tip of Point Loma, seen just across the Pacific Ocean/San Diego Bay from the Shores of Coronado.
La Sierra Tower was the second building we built on the Shores of Coronado. Located beachfront and the closest tower to the Hotel Del Coronado, the views from every unit capture the beautiful architecture and essence throughout Coronado. Fine dining, boutique shopping and Coronado’s pristine beach are all within walking distance.
El Camino Tower was the fifth building we built on the Shores of Coronado. Originally planned for a beachfront hotel, this building varies the most in its design from the rest. With a grand entrance and round about in front of the building, the incorporation of nature throughout the design accentuates the beauty radiated from Coronado.
With smaller unit sizes and washer/dryers located on every floor of the building, these condominiums still enjoy viewing the sunsets over Point Loma and the navy seals that train just next-door.
El Camino, although meaning “the road” in Spanish, is found right in front of the beach. While La Playa (“the beach”) is found on the road. This mystery (or mistake) is often questioned by many residents and is ultimately kept with the old Public Relations Director at the Coronado Shores Company, Al Ardmore.
La Playa Tower was the sixth building we built on the Shores of Coronado. The bay facing units get the opportunity to view the night life on the water of Glorietta & San Diego Bay. As well as the beautiful lights and architecture conveyed by the Downtown San Diego skyline and Coronado Bridge.
El Encanto Tower was the eight building we built on the Shores of Coronado.
El Mirador Tower was the ninth building we built on the Shores of Coronado.
The Coronado Shores spans 32 Acres of prime beach front adjacent to the world-famous Hotel Del Coronado. The ten luxurious towers affording views from the beautiful skyline of San Diego, Point Loma, and the Pacific Ocean. Floor plans range from studios to, one, two and three bedroom condos. There is 24-hour doorperson service with the resort grounds monitored around the clock by community service patrol officers. Additionally, each building has two-level parking garages plus guest parking around the Shores community. All of the condos are constructed of steel and concrete, Class A Construction standards. Lastly, each building has its own Homeowners’ Association and Board of Directors.
